about
Thank you so much for visiting!
A little bit about me... my name is Sabrina Wishak. My passion for photography began in high school. I was always fascinated with capturing images, even if it was just using a disposable, there was something about capturing beautiful moments that had me hooked. I ended up buying my first DSLR camera when I was about 16 and truly fell in love with the art.
I moved on to complete a two-year Creative Photography program with honours at Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology. Through this program, I developed a wide range of interests - everything from portrait, to commercial, to fine art - and am constantly trying new techniques and styles.
I love to volunteer too, giving my time to photograph events for the Children’s Wish Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation and Help Portrait. My work has also been displayed in Scotiabank’s Contact Photo Festival, in the Canadian Diabetes Association’s awareness exhibit: “Diabetes: the way I see it”.
I have worked as a seasonal photographer for Lifetouch Canada Inc, Snap Portrait Studio, and have assisted many other photographers, gaining experience and knowledge in the wedding and fashion industry. I transitioned into photographing weddings on my own for a few years, capturing such a uniquely special day because they offer a tremendously exciting experience, and I am overcome with joy when I'm able to share and capture such a precious milestone.
Recently however, photography has become more of a side-project as I work full-time as a Visual Designer for Shopify! It has given me the ability to focus on my career, my family, planning for the future, and traveling! I still pick up my camera at every opportunity, and look forward to sharing these moments with all of you :)
